Whenever the Mission appeals for a special project and that need is met, the remainder of funds goes into our general operating funds to provide programs and services for our homeless men, women and children.

Your entire contribution is received by the Merced County Rescue Mission.  Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

HAVEN OF HOPE
Women's Home

Our women's house is now open!  We currently can provide service for up to six single women.  There, they can find a safe, supportive, Christ-centered environment for women and children to rebuild their lives; while meeting their physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs on a one-to-one basis.

The Program Director helps facilitate other services offered through Merced County Human Service agencies such as the Merced County health clinic, legal aid services, government assistance programs, child care, etc.

Statistically, Rescue Mission programs have proven successful - 65% do not return to their previous transient lifestyle.  Our expectation is that 52% of our residents will move out into housing without utilizing government assistance.

It is a joy to see formerly homeless women and mothers address personal problems in a creative manner and go on to become productive citizens in the community.  There are many ways that you can be a part of this ministry... prayer, financial support or non-monetary donations, volunteering, etc.

According to the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, 80% of homeless individuals prefer a faith-based homeless facility.  When people come to our doors seeking shelter, they are told up front that this is a Christian organization and that religious classes are required.  On hearing that, some choose not to apply for residence.  Others are very grateful for the opportunity.

Our Mission Statement reads:  "Our purpose is to bring the hungry, hurting and homeless to new life, new goals, and a new future in Christ."  In fulfilling that mission, we seek to plant a living, biblical faith in our residents hearts.
